In my opinion yes, people depend a lot on technology nowadays. I think people see the facility in technology, so it creates a dependency not only physical but emotional, because many of the things we see on cell phones, for example, have an influence on our lives.
One example, is the things we see on the internet, like "perfect" people, you know, people feel bad for not following the "standard", and that's something I see a lot of dependence on people, posting the best pictures, or even don't post any photos because you don't feel good about yourself because of the fear of being judged by society.
